Looking back at the last 2 years
The last two years our little farm has grown. We now have around 20 chickens, 5 dairy goats, and about 16 Boer goats. We also now have a Livestock Guardian Dog now. His name is Gimli. He is a 1 year old Maremma. We have had to say goodbye to some good animals the last couple years. My youngest daughter's service dog passed away. But with sad goodbyes, opportunity for new friends comes. Katelyn now has a Chavlier King Charles Spaniel as her new constant companion. We have also had the opportunity to add some new very nice does to our herd as well. We will be showing them at every local show we can attend this next season. December brought us 8 new Boer kids on the ground. 4 boys and 4 girls. One of the girls is a moon spotted cutie out of our new spotted buck, Arrow. We acquired him from Valley View Boer Goats and looking forward to see how is kids turn out. Some pictures would be nice to add to this blog. I will have to get on that! Well here's to hoping that it is not another 2 years before I get back on her.

Wow-we kinda let this blog go!
It is now Jan of 2010. Kara has attempted to get a website up and running-with some success, but the keeping it up to date has been not so successful! Her web address is www.Kids4ChristBoers.webs.com
Our little farm is still plugging along. The goat herd right now consist of 7 does, a Boer buck named Chow from TLC Boers-he is really nice by the way!-and a wether. Mosses, to keep our buck, Chow, company. We have a few does due to kid in Feb. and then again in April. The girls had a great time showing their goats last year. They each raised a little money from the CC Jr. Livestock Auction. We are looking forward to this years new kid crop and a new year of some fun!
We did our first real attempt at a garden last spring. Boy was that a learning experience. It is alot of work and we will diffently be making some changes this spring. I think raised beds will have to be the answer to our spot-as it took so long to get the ground dry enough to work. If only I had enough faith to move trees! :)
Well that will have to do for now. Maybe I will keep up with this blog this year-time will tell.

Kid story
Our goats finally decided to have their kids, Sue had hers successfully first on the day before Valentine's Day, we let people come over to watch, she had 3boys. Next came Anna, on Valentine's Day, Bonnie Jo was here for that, Bonnie, Kara, and I sat with her for like 5 hours when she was having contractions and was pushing just on and off. So Kara went in and the baby was positioned wrong and couldn't get his legs in the right position. So after mom tried we called up a lady with lots of experience to come and help us and she was able to get it positioned right. She had 2 boys and 1 girl. So it was very late and and we all cleaned up and took a shower and by 12:00am we were in bed and snuggled up and cozy. And then mom came into the room that Bonnie and I were sleeping in and she said "Tango is going into labor" Bonnie and I moaned because we were sooo tired and we were just really hoping she would hold off until we got some sleep, but no no no she had to have them soon. She ended up having one big baby boy.
